How To Get A New Look At Any Age

With the start of the New Year, its important to look your best at any age. Beauty expert Nancy Gannon says here's how to get your new look.

In your 20s:

* Your skin is at its peak in your twenties. Look for products that have SPF to keep it that way!
* In your 20s it's all about experimenting with colors and textures, like sheer shadows and shimmery highlighter
* My favorite trick is to create dewy cheeks - first you want to create flawless looking skin by exfoliating and having a perfect blank canvas. Then you can create a great dewy cheek by applying a shimmer lotion to the apples of your cheeks. A great trick is to mix a dab of shimmer with my moisturizer to give all over glow.

In your 30s:

* In your 30s it's time to carve out your signature style. Pick a feature and play it up -- if it's your eyes, choose a neutral liner to make them pop. Like brown or gray, and if it's your lips, apply lipstick (or gloss) and then liner for a natural look that lasts.
* Get serious about moisturizing. Its time to start using thicker moisturizing creams especially in the colder months.
* And of course now is the time to start taking care of your skin especially the delicate skin around your eyes - there are effective products on the market that don't cost a fortune.

In your 40s:

* In your 40s, keep your skin at its best. Your skin loses much of it tightness and may begin to look dull and your pores may become larger. Home microdermabrasion like peel pads - you'll really see the difference.
* To keep your eye makeup fresh and prevent it from settling in lines (very aging!) try using a concealer as a base coat. It will keep your eye makeup in place and will make the color fresher!
* Look into cream blushes and shadows now...they look softer on skin and often give a youth-enhancing glow.
* Invest in the application tools. Brushes that make blending easy are an absolute must...you need to avoid any harsh lines, which are extremely aging.

50s & Beyond:

* Bronzer is your best friend. As we age we lose color in our face so pick a product two shades darker than your skintone and blush it onto cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, forehead, and your chin. Dab some on your neck too to avoid a line of demarcation. Then apply blush on the apples of your cheeks over bronzer.
* Changes in your skin have reached high gear - loss of skin elasticity and hydration. Now is a great time to begin looking for a deep wrinkle filler. Formulas to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin texture, skin tone and color, as well as your skin's hydration levels.
