1947: The first reported sighting of Flying Saucers was reported near Mount Rainier, Washington, by airline pilot Kenneth Arnold of Boise, Idaho. He reported seeing nine UFOs traveling at 1,700 mph and described their flight pattern as similar to a saucer skipping across water.

George Lucas’ Industrial Light and Magic used 145 terabytes of disk space to create the special effects for “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”. 145 terabytes is enough to fill 35,000 standard DVDs. If you were to try to do all of the effects work for “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” on your home PC, it would take you 16,000 years.

Kobian, a "humanoid" robot, which can express seven human emotions, has been unveiled by researchers at Waseda University in Japan. The Emotional Humanoid Robot can express seven different feelings, including delight, surprise, sadness and dislike. In addition to assuming different poses to match the mood, Kobian uses motors in its face to move its lips, eyelids and eyebrows into various positions. To express delight, for example, the robot puts its hands over its head and opens it mouth and eyes wide. To show sadness, Kobian hunches over, hangs its head and holds a hand up to its face in a gesture of grief. Kobian can also walk around, perceive its environment and perform physical tasks. The robot features a double jointed neck that helps it achieve more expressive postures. According to Kobian’s developers, the robot’s expressiveness makes it better equipped to interact with humans and assist with daily activities.

Kodak is retiring Kodachrome color film after 74 years on the market. When Kodak introduced Kodachrome in 1935, it became the first commercially successful color film. But with the rise of digital technology, Kodachrome sales are now just a fraction of 1% of the Kodak's still-picture film revenue. Kodak expects current supplies of Kodachrome film to last until early fall.

Two NASA spacecraft closed in on the moon this morning -- one to send streaming video to Earth as it swings past the moon, the other to map the lunar surface from orbit. The mission is the first in NASA's plan to return to the moon. Live footage is online now. Nasa.gov

My source at moviehole is reporting that a remake/reboot of the 1985 classic Teen Wolf is in early development. Warner Bros. is currently shopping for a writer, but the studio isn't yet sure "which way [they want] to go."

Way back when, before anyone had even seen Terminator Salvation yet I reported that an Austrian bodybuilder named Roland Kickinger had been cast to play the T-800 instead of Arnold Schwarzenegger. As we later found out, he was cast for his body, not his face. But now numerous sites are reporting that Kickinger has been cast in Lionsgate's Conan reboot as Conan. Most of these sites are kinda sketchy the one that isn’t Latin Review is the only one to claim that this is all BS.

Midway developer Ed Boon posted some tasty details on his Twitter page regarding Mortal Kombat 9 that MK fans will be very pleased to hear.

Boon confirmed that MK 9 will in fact be M-rated. (Given what we've seen from God of War III on the violence front, Midway is going to have to dig deep to appease jaded gore-hounds.)

So what is the team doing to really earn that M rating this time around? Boon commented yesterday that the team has started motion capturing special moves and fatalities, and the results have been "kind of sick." MK9 will be stores on Time for Christmas.

The world's largest atom smasher will likely be fired up again in October after scientists have carried out tests and put in place further safety measures to prevent a repeat of the faults that sidelined the $10 billion machine shortly after startup last year, the operator said Saturday. The Large Hadron Collider was meant to restart in late September, but that will probably be pushed back two to three weeks.

Boobs 'made perfect' with Kush gadget

Ladies, are you kept awake by the fear that your boobs are sagging? That you'll wake up with a wrinkled chest?

If so, this new plastic cylinder claims to have the answer. We kid you not.

Simply slip the Kush in your cleavage before you nod off and – hey presto (or should that be breasto?) – you wake up with untarnished boobs. Or so the makers claim.
