Fox has ordered two additional seasons of The Simpsons, which will bring the longest-running series in primetime television history through its 22nd season. The 44-episode pickup ensures the series will reach an astounding 493 episodes.

A rare copy of the first Superman comic will be put up for auction online today. "Action Comics #1," published in June 1938, is considered by collectible experts to be the world's most valuable comic book and is valued at about $126,000. The unidentified seller bought the comic in 1950 when he was 9 years old after begging his father for 35 cents.

A Russian man died after guzzling a bottle of Viagra to keep him going for a 12-hour orgy with two female pals. The women had bet mechanic Sergey Tuganov $4,300 that he wouldn’t be able to follow through with the half-day sex marathon. But minutes after winning the bet, the 28-year-old died of a heart attack

Nadya Vessey was born with a condition that meant her legs would never develop properly and by the time she was 16 she had both her legs amputated. Now in her fifties, with false legs, she was approached by a little boy who asked her what had happened to her legs, so she told him she was a mermaid. Later, she thought more about her comment and wrote to the Oscar winning team behind the special effects in the Lord of the Rings movies, and asked them to make her a tail. To her surprise they agreed, creating a prosthetic tail from wetsuit fabric and plastic molds which now allows her to swim.
