Whatever!

And the plot thickens! Here's proof there's no such thing as a happy ending, because someone is always going to try to rain on your parade.

You've no doubt heard about Huckleberry, that gorgeous chocolate-brown Lab stolen from outside a Rosedale bakery over the weekend.

What really caught people's attention was when the dog's heartbroken owner offered a no-questions-asked 15-thousand dollar reward for the return of his canine friend.

It was a thing of beauty for visual media outlets when they were invited to a neighbourhood park to see the frisky pet prance around in the snow after he was returned safe and sound, albeit under odd circumstances.

It should come as no surprise, police have apparently arrested the two people who made the late-night drop-off of the beloved pooch on Sunday.

It's also worth noting, the dog's owner is reportedly the son of a bank president, as if we didn't already know money isn't an issue for this guy.

If you've read the Letters to the Editor pages in local newspapers, you'll see a wide range of opinions, some of them angrily denouncing the fact 15-grand was paid for the return of a dog. A dog!!!

Sure, they're man's best friend and a part of the family, but who pays the equivalent of a post-secondary education for a Labrador retriever? Someone with money.

If you had that kind of cash and loved your dog, you'd totally pay that kind of reward to get it back. For crying out loud, if you won the lottery today, no one would blink if you bought matching Porsches and the same pair of $12-hundred stilettos in 20-different colours.

It's what people with money do. That's why they're eccentric and the rest of us poor folks are just plain crazy.

We can't understand how the other side lives, and you'd be lying through your teeth if you said you weren't dying to try. So be happy this guy got his dog back and just get on with it, because like the Comments Section suggests, there are more important things to worry about in life.

But Whatever!
