We started the morning off with a little Sex…and the city. Today’s the day where millions of women flock to the theatre to catch up with Carrie and the ladies. I too am going to escape to the theatre with my birds nest hat…join me will you…

You had to have been living in a cave for quite some time not to know the movie version of Sex and the City hits theatres today.
I can easily say I was never a huge fan of the show. I watched the first couple of seasons and then got bored and moved on to something else. But the show itself was good for a few reasons.
First, it turned the tables and made men the sex objects while the ladies called the shots. Two wrongs don't make a right, but if any men out there were offended with the way male characters were herded in-and-out of the show like choice cattle, well, now you know how women feel!
Not like most women ever had a problem talking about sex, but the show definitely made it a lot easier for all women to speak and live their truth, by showing a range of female characters struggling and thriving with their life choices.
And like it or not, the show spawned a string of chick-lit hits and glorified being a girl, doing girly things, and spending your hard-earned cash on girly clothes and shoes. The most vital though, was a revival of the female spirit.
That was all very evident at a Sex and the City-themed party last night on Queen West, that was also a fundraiser for the StepStones summer camp.
The program takes less-fortunate girls and sends them up north for a week-long camping trip. The young ladies do everything from playing games and learning how to swim, to conflict resolution techniques and how to boost their self-esteem in a healthy way.
So whether you're going to check out the Sex and the City movie, or have no interest in it at all, the message here to women is to love yourself and take care of the women of our future!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no wait…it’s a bear…run! Wait, don’t run…in fact curl up in the fetal position or make loud noises. A cuddly black bear was spotted roaming the streets of Pickering yesterday…but has since been put to sleep by the po po. How do you think you would react? JJ and Melanie are sure they would be safe in their branch/twig fort.
It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time for Code Wars. Newbie came up with a fantastic challenge for JJ and Melanie…or so he thought. Turns out Melanie knows Newbie more, and with that has taken the lead 4-2. 905’rs are glowing with excitement.
Tiger Woods called the show this morning and assured Melanie that everyone has a bad game from time to time…well not Tiger. Melanie participated in a charity golf game yesterday and gave a less than stellar performance, but still was the prettiest on the course.

How loud it too loud? If you’re Melanie’s neighbor, prepare to be interrupted with the sweet sounds of Bob Marley. Living in an apartment, I must admit I’m a fan of the quiet. You called, you text…and apparently you encourage Melanie and everyone else to blast their beats…within a reasonable time of course.
Steve & Chris aka “The Designer Guys” dropped by this morning and filled us in on what’s hot for summer. By that we mean what to wear, the prefect glow and whether or not you should wear socks and sandals. You can check out Steve & Chris Monday – Friday at 2pm on CBC.

um-gate…a sticky substance that’s sweet in the mouth, but not so good when you accidentally put it in your washing machine. JJ learned the hard way, but thanks to your calls, he may be gone with the gum.
JJ and Melanie raised a good point this morning. Why spend a trillion dollars on a voyage to Mars when there are natural disasters that need our attention all over the world? Oh and by the way, what’s up with the black and white pics from mars…dudes, next time just ask to borrow my camera.

JJ's Indiana Jones review
Indiana Jones has lost his Han Solo. They should have called this "The adventures of the Jones Family". Here is a movie that didn't need to be made. It opens great in true Indy tradition and then turns into a Disney ride or a commercial for an Indian...(read more)a Jones video game. Swinging with monkeys? Really? Sure I understand the character has matured and time has passed, so the inevitable "I'm too old for this..." is expected, but time has passed in real life as well and there have been numerous rip offs of Indiana Jones, and ironically this movie also comes off as one. I have no problems with the "alien" premise but there isn't any mystery, or archaeological riddle or intrigue...it just seems like this was made for kids. The final 35mins I kept saying to myself "are you serious? Is this actually where they're going with this?" It took 19 years to come up with this? Bah!

Once upon a time Facebook ruled the Internet waters, but much like my grandma the hype seems to be dwindling away – R.I.P. Granny. JJ and Melanie are still very much pro-facebook, but for how long?

Despite there being a chill in the air and JJ diving 100 feet to get Melanie a slice of pizza, Kanye West entertained thousands who watched in awe last night at the Molson Amphitheatre. A special cameo from Chris Brown was arguably the highlight of the night.
What television shows influence you? I remember loving MMC back when I was a tiny lad. Ah yes, singing M-I-C-K-E-Y while jumping on my bed. Oh boy-oh-boy those were the days. JJ is obviously influenced by Battlestar Galactica and Melanie by Gossip Girl. Come to think of it Melanie has spread rumors about me and my imaginary friend Leland.

JJ was absent today so it was the Melanie and Boogie show this morning.
Newbie upset Melanie today who at one time put Newbie on the top of her “nice guy” list. You see Newbie has been cat-sitting for his GF and stumbled upon a 2-year-old LCBO $50 gift card which he plans on using this weekend. Melanie now thinks Newbie is a thief and arrogant human being. Now Newbie has to resort to virgin rum & cokes.
The heat is on…in Barbados. You and a friend can hit the sunny beaches of Barbados, just listen daily during JJ and Melanie in the morning for the vacay vibe and your cue to call.
The looong weekend is here!!! Despite the yucky weather, make the most of it and dance naked in the rain.

here is so much going on in the world today…but nothing like Maxim’s Hot 100 List has sparked such a response from Flow listeners. Everyone’s first reaction to #1 was…who? JJ and Melanie were quick to jump on Eva Mendez defense…but Newbie was all about Charlize Theron.
CODE WARS kicked off its 4th week and JJ tied it up with his rendition of ‘Tainted Love.’ Who knew JJ was in to Soft Cell? Melanie put up a good fight with ‘Poison’…however she was a little bit pitchy.
Kreesha Turner was in our studio this morning, two words…adorable! OK, that was one word…but my draw has dropped and I can’t get out any more words. Check out her new CD ‘Passion’ in stores now.

Britain’s newest sensation Estelle dropped by the studio to chat with JJ and Melanie. In person she’s equally talented and pretty. Estelle’s newest CD ‘Shine’ is in stores now.
Since my arrival at Flow I can honestly say that JJ and Melanie are two of the sweetest, most sincere and brilliant people I have ever met. Past employees of Mr. Bill O’Reilly cannot say the same. We asked if you work with someone with an anger issue, and true enough…many of you do. Hang in there…what comes around goes around.

After I whiped away the tears and got over the fact that it was Monday JJ brought up the idea of eating squirrel meat. Melanie was clearly against the idea, while JJ looked more like he may intrigue his taste buds with a double squirrel patty cheeseburger.
Don’t call JJ Bro! Especially when you’re trying to sell him a sofa! JJ…we agree with you, and we salute you for walking out and denying them the chance to win your business.

To say it was a busy show would be putting it lightly…today’s show was CRAZY, OUT OF CONTROL, NO HOLDS BARRED, RIP ROARING BUSY!!!!
Three equally terrific Mommy’s were in studio to compete for a Blackberry and 2 tickets to see Alicia Keys in concert. From where I was sitting, I think they were just happy to see two of the most attractive on-air announcers in Toronto…JJ and Melanie.
Newbie (that’s me) has a rip in his buffet pants, a stalker on the prowl and his Mom is not speaking to him. Oddly enough, he can still sleep at night.

Week 3 of Code Wars took place this morning with Melanie prevailing to a 2-1 lead over JJ’s 416’rs. Newbie was on the buttons and once again cut JJ off…JJ is now filing a lawsuit.
Here’s what you don’t do…NEVER GIVE AWAY A FREE TIMBIT!!! A mother of 4 has been fired for giving away a 1 Timbit. JJ and Melanie weighed in on the issue…I think maybe Canada’s most profitable coffee chain can learn from their competition.

The MTV Movie Award Nominations were released, and both JJ and Melanie agree that The Bourne Ultimatum wins hands down. Personally, Rosie vs. Elizabeth should be a strong contender.
Look up “The Mosquito Alarm” think about it, and ask yourself whether you agree with it or not. The decision was pretty much split from callers this morning. I once designed “The Bear” a device that kept my 2 sisters far away from me…didn’t work.

This just in…Melanie is building a deck, from a book. She’s going to go where no woman has gone before (or that I know of) and put two pieces of lumber together and create what’s sure to be the biggest and most beautiful deck in the GTA. Status so far…still waiting to dig a hole.
It was week #2 for Code Wars and Melanie proved that her 905’rs are far better drivers than 416’rs. JJ and Melanie are all tied up at 2 a piece. What will happen next week? Let’s just say it’s going to get messy.
Tonight is the advanced screening of Iron Man. Three words…Fan…tas…tic.
