Geek News - Dec 22 edition
Here’s the final word on Batman for 2008…maybe. No talent has a finished contract yet. Specifically, Chris Nolan doesn't have a deal. The word I'm having is that Chris would like to do another project before leaping back into BATMAN - if he decides to do another. We're hearing he may very well do THE PRISONER next - which would mean... no valid BATMAN rumors until much later.
A Judge Dredd movie is in development. Not many details have been announced. The first, in 1995, starred Sylvester Stallone, Diane Lane, Rob Schneider, Armand Assante as the villain, and Max von Sydow as the Chief Justice.
A new Jack Ryan movie is in the works. The character, created by novelist Tom Clancy, has not appeared onscreen since 2002's The Sum of All Fears. The new Ryan film is planned as an origin story, not derived from Clancy's novels and ultimately featuring a new, younger star.
U.K. doctors are treating at least 10 people a week for Wii related injuries experts, say “There has been a 100 per cent increase in patients complaining of Wii-itis. It’s possible that Wii-itus may lead to rheumatism and arthritis in later life. Patients often have inflammation of the shoulder or wrist. People who are double-jointed are most likely to suffer from Wii-knee — and in extreme cases the knee cap can be dislocated or can even pop out.”

Will Smith wants to do more Bad Boys films. "I would do up to Bad Boys 6 if I could. I have so much fun working with Martin Lawrence. I love Miami. As if we weren't already excited enough about a sequel to Tron, news has broken that House's Olivia Wilde is the first actor to sign on - and star as a sexy worker drone.
Microsoft hopes to get an emergency software patch out to millions of users beginning today. The patch will plug a security hole that cyber criminals have been using to grab control of unsuspecting Internet Explorer users' machines.
In the meantime, experts say today wouldn't be a bad day to keep Internet Explorer closed and use an alternative browser, like Firefox, Opera or Google Chrome.
The movie nuts at Yahoo Movies say the animated film Delgo opened on 2,160 screens and made a paltry $511,920. That’s an average of about $237 per screen, or about two people in the theater per showing. This means that Delgo essentially breaks a record for the worst opening ever for a wide release film. The cast for Sylvester Stallone's next big action project, titled The Expendables, already features Stallone himself, Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Dolph Lundgren, but the script calls for a total of five mercenaries, so who is this fifth? None other than UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture. This now rounds out the cast of mercenaries and puts the project on track to start shooting in March in Brazil.
A bootleg version of the Wolverine Trailer hit the www this weekend, The official version of the X-Men Wolverine trailer is expected to hit the newly-launched official website very soon (perhaps today). A site for Activision's video game based on the movie is also coming online soon at Uncaged.com.
In related news, Production Weekly says that two weeks of additional photography will take place in Vancouver beginning January 12.

My Sources got a chance to talk to David Goyer the writer of (The Dark Knight, Batman Begins and the "Blade" films) last week and learned from the filmmaker that the Magneto spin-off is in a holding pattern at the moment.
"I think they like the script and they're just waiting to see what happens with 'Wolverine,'" Goyer told us. "I don't think they would consider moving forward until the movie comes out."
"Blade" director Stephen Norrington is working on a new version of "The Crow". And he plans to go all hard with it.
He says, quote, "Whereas the original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style."
A fifth Terminator, has already been greenlit. McG, who is directing Salvation, will return for the fifth film, which is currently slated to arrive in 2011

1 Pack Chocolate Chips
1 Pack Butterscotch Chips
14 Ounces Sweetened Condensed Milk (1 Can)
tsp Pure Vanilla
(Pecans, M&M's, Smarties...whatever you would like to add)
Butter a round pan (use the cake pans with the hole in the middle to shape it like a wreath)
Melt on low...chocolate chips, butterscotch, milk, and vanilla on low in saucepan
Stir in pecans, M&M's, coconut, or whatever you would like here
Pour into pan...it will be chunky and very thick
Shape to the pan
Refrigerate
(Once it has hardened...flip the fudge out onto plate and it will look like a wreath. Add some icing sugar and whatever for decorations...top it with more M&M's, sprinkles...whatever you like!!)

The Lost City of Z is a period epic about a British explorer who was lost in the Amazon searching for the mythical City of Z, the supposed location of an advanced civilization. Paramount has just announced that James Gray, of We Own the Night previously, will direct the adaptation. Brad Pitt is set to star.
The big winners at the Los Angeles Film Critics Assocation awards were Wall-E and The Dark Knight.
The Dark Knight has smashed the record for first-day Blu-ray sales. The superhero sequel, which stars Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, sold 513,000 copies on its first day of release, 21% of which were Blu-ray discs.
Google will breathe new life into magazines long forgotten as the Internet giant has announced a project that will digitize millions of articles and archive the pieces within Google’s Book Search. The partnership between Google and several prominent magazine publishers will allow anyone to search and read articles from magazines like Ebony, Popular Science and even the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists.

Usually when people call the show they ask to win a prize. This morning – they felt it necessary to tell Melanie that the sheer image of her has forced a listener to take a cold shower. OK, Melanie is very attractive…but in a sister-sort-of-way.
Some women admit to having the “hots” for Santa. But why? Is it the fact that he can grow a mean beard? Grants wish lists? Has a belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly? Wait…maybe it was Santana?

Tuesday? Hmm, meh…it’s not a day to we look forward to…in fact, it seems worse than Monday. However, here are a few things worth mentioning:
Why does Melanie have a hate-on for Anne Hathaway? Is it because Anne is prettier? Oh snap, I’m going to get in trouble for that one. (Think quick) Melanie has pretty hair.
Hey, what does 7 Pounds mean? Some say it’s the weight of Will Smith’s heart. JJ thinks it’s Will’s baby. Oh that JJ…always with the one-liners.
Next time you see someone litter…pick up their trash and kindly place it back in their hand. Ok, well not really, but if you’re twice their size it might be a good idea.

Update!!!
It’s Friiiiiiiday! And what a Friday it is!
Hosts Jean-Marc Genereux and Tre Armstrong of ‘So You Think You Can Dance Canada’ joined us in the studio today to talk about the series finale coming up this Sunday. It looks like it’s going to be a pretty hot competition, the judges themselves seem pretty anxious to find out who will take the title. Another thing they are not sure of, is if they will be doing a show anytime soon about people who suck at dancing…Sorry JJ!
And if you are planning on making some of Melanie’s Christmas fudge this weekend, let me remind you USE BUTTER to grease your pan. My girlfriend made the mistake of using the healthier choice of cooking spray, and as Melanie warned it was very difficult to get out of the pan. But hey! Eating fudge straight from the pan is all the same!

OK, I admit it…political issues are not what I care about most. However, you put a Christmas tree in between Harper and Duceppe and I’m all ears.
Whatever happens later today, history will be made. All eyes will be on Canada…but I’m sure will be informed to wait for any decision until mid-January. See, Christmas is more important than politics! Uh huh…my point has been made.
Melanie was two…huge…eyelashes. JJ has suggested mayonnaise, or any other type of cream.

Mmm Bud Girls…I’d like to crack me open a can of one of them…um, I mean hey the Bud Girls were in-studio this morning to personally invite you to this Sunday’s Tailgate Party at the corner of John & Blue Jays way. All this in honour of the FIRST NFL game being played here in Toronto – Bills vs. Dolphins (not Dollars Melanie)
Ok, so there’s this kid who wrote a book on how to meet woman. Everyone is so ‘ooh and ah’ over this kid, but I’ve seen him on Ellen and let me just say…ANNOYING! Sorry little one, you may talk the talk, but you need to learn from the master (me) how to walk the walk.
JJ and Melanie are two crazy goofballs. If you’re a fan like I am and you want to surprise them with a hot cup of coffee…make sure you get the order right…that’s it.
